He caved.
(Caved like a dynamited rock tunnel.)
His only stipulation had been that Tiwa had to wait for him to move his door to Mexico.
Which is why he's smirking as he strides into the bar and finds Little Miss Magic curled on one of the couches.
"Found us the perfect place," he says, tipping his head toward the Front Door.
Ascensión awaits.

"All right."
He yanks a handkerchief from a saddlebag.
"Ain't too bad, after all -- just keep this on there good 'n tight till the bleedin' stops."

With a hmm she starts digging in her invisible pockets and soon turns up with a tie around bandage, just labeled from Starfleet, it was useful,
"This might fit better."
no subject
He tilts his head at the bandage.
"Where'd you come up with that?"

His eyes move to Tiwa's face.
"You hurtin' right now?"
no subject
Its a not a full lie just a partial one since of course it hurts but she can stand it.
no subject
"Won't hurt to rest up a little bit before we head for the coast," he says, spreading his coat on a flat rock so Tiwa can sit.

"I liked the music there. I think there's one Mexican place in all of Wellington, the Flying Burrito Brother's and they don't have anyone that good."
no subject
"You 'n your magic pooka pockets ... "
He looks up again.
"They got burritos that fly?"
no subject
This is probably a no but you can never tell.
no subject
A beat.
"Try 'n catch it, maybe -- reckon it'd depend on how hungry I was."

Closes it.
Opens it again.
"Miss Tiwa, my only plan for now's to get you to the Gulf so you can see how pretty it is."

"If I argue, you'll just push me in, anyhow."

He sternfaces at Tiwa.
"But that don't mean I like to go gallivantin' in it. There's rough water that can catch you by surprise, y'know."

"I don't think you'll ever stop surprisin' me with how grown-up you can get at the strangest times."
no subject
She sighs at him and pokes him.
no subject
"That's right -- never you mind what I just said, then."

"Old dog, sure you're not that old."
no subject
(He doesn't want her to see or feel any half-dried blood.)
"Careful, you're supposed to be sittin' still, little bird."
